Warmoes
Knowledge Management is about working smarter. And although
efforts to work smarter have been around since the antiquity, the recent
evolutions in ICT allow enormous steps forwards.
"Get me the right answer in 30 seconds !"
When you can answer questions like this quickly, accurately and
efficiently, you know you are smart. So from a practical perspective, knowledge
management has to do with:
 | Searching for relevant documents
 | Writing relevant documents
 | Being informed when something interesting happens
 | Finding other smart people that can answer your
questions
 | Learning with other experts in electronic meetings at a
distance | | | | |
This will allow you to:
 | know your customers and their needs better, to advise
them more suitable products and services
 | give better (technical) service
 | design and innovate faster | | |

This seminar gives you insight in the possibilities and
limitations of interesting technologies such as:
 | search engines,
 | portals,
 | document management,
 | content management

This seminar shows you how much knowledge management you can
already do by using untapped standard features from MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
and Exchange, without any need for programming.
But although ICT is the key enabler, the critical success factors
are largely in the organisation around the ICT solutions. You'll learn
about:
 | The role of the Knowledge Manager
 | Communities of Practice: the "clubs" of the smart
people.
 | How to set up a knowledge management project.
 | The elements of a strategic knowledge life cycle
plan to improve your knowledge from the feasibility stage, over the
repeatability stage to the efficiency stage. | | | |
Steven Warmoes is very much appreciated for his many illustrations
form the real world, drawn from his unique 15 years of experience in improving
knowledge work.
